iSo you want to start an airrline? Well that's not necessarily a bad idea. But it's a major undertaking to satisfy the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board if it's a US Airline. If your airline will be in another country they, too will have similar requirements and agencies. In any country airlines are heavily regulated. In order to open one and start selling tickets you'll have to satisfy the Authorities having jurisdiction AND your lenders and Investors; unless you can finance the entire project with your own money. And that includes the money to purchase and pay for airplanes completely. Not paying some expenses and then leasing airplanes. Lessors don't consider renting airplanes to just anyone with a little money. They're concerned about what you're going to do with them, and I don't mean fly people around in them. I mean how you're going to manage, maintain, schedule, operate and protect them and the passengers you fly. There is an enormous potential liability that goes with an airplane especially when it's used for commercial carriage of the general citizenry. If it crashes then you, the lessor, the manufacturer and likely anyone who has ever done any maintenance work will be sued by lots of people. And while you might think that you'll just file bankruptcy and go away if that happens, all the other people in the daisy chain of law suits can't just fold up their tent and leave. They have a lot more to lose than you do and the judge isn't going to let the Boeings of the world just leave. So the fact that you know a pilot or mechanic doesn't mean that you're going to be ALLOWED to open a commercial airline. Or that you should. I know this isn't news to people who have actually been in management of airlines but it is to a lot of investors who want to get rich quick in the airline business. So before you learn the lesson of "An airline is a business that you can invest a small fortune in to loose a large one" call us. We can prepare a business plan (or confirm that yours is sound), obtain an Airline Operating Certificate, hire the professionals who can activate that certificate, source, inspect and purchase aircraft (including providing expert legal representation specializing in aviation) set up training facilities, hire and train flight crews and cabin attendants, stock your spare parts, hire your ground crews, arrange contracts for fuel and maintenance, provide the financing to acquire aircraft on purchase or lease terms and generally do the entire job in a manner that will give you a good, fighting chance for success. Spend a little money and you may save a small fortune and have an opportunity to make a large one. We'll be happy to talk to you. Give us a call. Click Here |
